EXPERT colour ADVICE
TYPES OF HIGHLIGHTS
Use the guidelines below to decide the highlighting look you are after and suggest techniques to get these results.
1. ALL-OVER HIGHLIGHTS
Brighten your overall look with lighter accents throughout your hair. Lots of subtle highlights will give you a total lighter look than just a few bold highlights. Just apply Frost & Tip to strands pulled through holes all around the cap. Not recommended for HairPainting. Great for all hairstyles!
2. FACE-FRAMING HIGHLIGHTS
Draw attention to your features with highlights placed just around your face. It’s a great way to add warmth to your skin or soften a harsh, too-solid hairline. Simply comb your hair into your usual style and apply Nice 'n Easy HairPainting along the hairline surrounding your face, including your bangs. Or, you can apply Nice 'n Easy Frost & Tip just to strands pulled through holes in the front of the cap. Great for all hairstyles!
3. CROWN HIGHLIGHTS
Enhance dimension at the front and top of your head with crown highlights. This technique works best on chin length or shorter styles. Just comb your hair into your usual style and apply Nice 'n Easy HairPainting to select strands at the top of your head and at the front hairline. Or, you can apply Nice 'n Easy Frost & Tip only to strands pulled through holes in these same areas. Best for chin length and shorter styles.
4. ACCENTED TIPS
Lighten just the ends of your hair for a fresh look no matter what style or hair length you have. Comb your hair into your usual style and brush Nice 'n Easy HairPainting onto the ends only. Or apply Frost & Tip to the ends with gloved fingertips. You can also use the cap and hook as you would for all-over highlights: simply pull your hair through the holes in the same way, but only cover the last inch of each strand. Best for chin length and shorter styles.
5. CONDITIONING
Lock in colour and shine with colourSeal Weekly Conditioning Gloss. Apply after shampooing for intensive conditioning and then continue to use weekly on any type of highlight.
