When you choose a hair colour, you need to follow the rule of colour to get the finished hair colour you want:
The colour of your hair right now + a new shade = your new finished colour.
Example: If you are now a medium-brown hair colour, and you use a warm medium-red hair colour, your new finished colour will be a warm auburn shade (a combination of your original medium-brown colour and the warm medium-red you add to it). Makes sense, right?
Don't look at the picture on the front of the box and think that's the colour you will get. The picture only shows the colour you are adding to the colour already on your head.
Do turn the package over and check out the Shade Selector on the back. Locate your "starting colour." The chart shows you approximately what colour you will get if you use that hair colour.
Things to note:
- If you've already coloured your hair, start with that colour
- If you are going more than two shades lighter than your natural hair colour, you will get warmer results than perhaps desired
